Tax Practitioner Liaison (TPL) Meeting (2 hours CPE)

The Tax Practitioner Liaison (TPL) meeting is usually on the fourth Friday each month, from May through October, and the first Friday in December. The next meeting will take place on June 26, 2009.

The meeting is held from 9:00 am - 11:00 am at the Oregon Department of Revenue Building at 955 Center NE, Salem, Oregon, in the "Fish Bowl" room on the first floor near the cafeteria. (Need a map?). This is a great review, whether you are a seasoned preparer or an LTP studying to take the LTC exam! During the course of this 4-day seminar, taught by Debra McKinney of The Tax Professors, you will take a look at many of the situations that arise in our practices each year.Topics will include:

  • income: earned, investment, retirement, etc.
  • the hundreds of credits
  • basis of assets
  • various ways to sell or exchange property, including repossessions, involuntary conversions, installment sales, ‘like kind exchanges,’ and more
  • types of business income and expenses, from Schedule C to Schedule F, to SE and 2106
  • "home office" deductions
  • PALs and NOLs
